Pushing through the jobs, then heading to the Socceroos v Thailand

After a great night watching Tegan at touch football last night, and then staying up way too  late watching youtube and Triple J – like a version videos, I slid out of bed and met my jam packed morning head on.

Day 358 - Grand Final

After dropping off the kids and heading to gym, I decided to head along to Ikea to pick up a few things.  The place was crazy busy, and I thought I could just pop in and out.  Whilst 10th in line at one of the 8 checkouts, I over heard someone say it was a public holiday on the Gold Coast, so I am guessing that is why there were a lot of kids about as well.

I continued pushing through my uber task list, and then got onto some fun stuff which included shortlisting tours for our San Francisco trip.  On the list are Sonoma (wine country so must remember appropriate bribe for the kids), City tour and Alcatraz.  I have also booked us some tickets to see a baseball game.

Sue’s sister Candice is up from Melbourne for the weekend and dropped in with cousin Daniel and Dani’s 7 week old baby Henry, though he wasn’t due for another couple of weeks so he is tiny!  Candice also let us know that her partner Adam has been accepted into the Victorian police force, so there will be double celebrations in Hawaii!

One of the snow guys mentioned whilst we were there, that have accidentally bought an extra kindle case with a light, and did I want it along with a couple of kindle books.  Well the care package came late in the day, and it is superb, thanks Bruce!  I will be loading up our kindle before we travel with some new books, though the issue will be who gets to use it…

Ryan, and mate of his Charlie and I then headed off to the Australia v Thailand World Cup qualifier at Suncorp Stadium.  It was a great night out with the boys, and we ran into a few other people whilst we were there.

Home about 11:30 with a dozing son, and I then played and configured the kindle for the new few hours, when I should really have turned in…

Today’s song of the day is one that is locked into my mind at the moment, and is on high rotation… This song reminds me a lot of the style of the music I listened to back in the day…  I have heard it referenced as similar to Simple Minds.  The Horrors- Still Life
